My name is Myshellie (Michelle) and I’m a journalist. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in mid-2016 after a Hawaii gynecologist performed a laparoscopic ablation to cauterize endo implants, lesions and cysts in my abdomen. The procedure made my condition worse.
The diagnosis came many years after I first began to experience endo symptoms, which included heavy bleeding during menstrual cycles, excruciating pain that would interfere with school and work, digestion issues, pain during intercourse and hormonal imbalances.
In February 2018, I went to a Houston endometriosis specialist to get an excision surgery, the best treatment money can buy for endo. While the surgery helped immensely, I’ve decided a hysterectomy is best to relieve pain from adenomyosis, which continues to flare up weekly.
